To create complete courses in Botamp, you must start by adding the lessons. This is done in the Content section. Click on Content in the Botamp menu.
To access the Content section on smartphones, click on Content.
In the Content section, you will find the default Article and Product content types.
You will have to add a new type of content to put the course lessons in. Click on + to add a new content type.
Fill out the form with a Name that matches the content you want to create, the content's format, and the label of your content. The format of the content is by default set to Standard. To create a course, select the Sequence format.
Then click on Save.
The new content type will be saved and added to the Content page.
You will then have to create the lessons. Click on Manage below the name of the new content type created to display the page where you can add the lessons.
Then click on Add Content to start creating your lessons.
You will see a form to create the lesson:
Enter the course title in Title.
In Description, enter the introductory message to your lesson. Be creative.
Insert a Featured image to be displayed at the top of the lesson's page and when sharing on social networks. The Featured image is optional.
The Delay section will allow you to specify the time between the fan subscription and the lesson sending.
Enter the lesson content in the Body field. You can format it to make it easier to read.
Click on Save at the bottom of the page.
You will go back to the page Add Content. You will find a list of the lessons you have created, along with some information such as Delay, Recipients (number of people who received the message), Reads (number of people who read the message), Clicks (number of people who clicked on the message link to read the lesson).
A Delete button will also allow you to delete the lesson.
To modify a lesson, click on its name. The lesson configuration form will display.
Click on Add Content to add a new lesson.
Activating Subscription to the Course
Your course is now created, but you should now tell Botamp "Once my contacts clicked on the subscription button, subscribe them to the course." To do this, you have to create an automation. An automation is a set of rules executed when your contacts perform actions in Messenger.
Create a Content Subscription automation. Use the same Optin parameter and Name you used when creating your Optin.
Click on Save. You are sent to the Rule page.
On this page, there are predefined rules. The rules manage subscriptions to the course. You can customize them by clicking on each rule and replacing it with your own information.
Note: The Text field contains a limit of 600 characters.
With your automation, 3 default rules are automatically created:
- One to create the subscription to your course after fans click on the Start button.
- Another to send a welcome message right after subscription.
- The third to send an unsubscribe message once the subscription is deleted.
Modify the rules to get results similar to the following. Do not forget to adapt it to your use case.
Once your rules are configured, your lessons will be sent to your contacts according to the defined frequency (in Content) once they subscribe to your offer.
Once your automation has been configured, return to the Automation page. Right now, your automation is inactive. You must activate it by clicking on the Inactive red button before it becomes functional.
To modify your automation, click on Settings.
To modify your automation's rules, click on the name of the automation.
When creating your automation, the optin link is automatically created. It is the m.me link to share on your Facebook page and in your ads to promote your course.
Your course is now created and configured.
One last thing to tackle: how to ask your subscribers to register? You can do this in 2 ways:
- Ask your fans to subscribe to your content using the m.me link above. During their first contact with you by Messenger, your contacts will be asked if they want to subscribe to all your contents (including courses). Once they click on Yes, the subscription is effective.
- You can also ask your fans to register for your course by creating an Optin. Then post on Facebook a message asking them to subscribe, followed by your optin's link. To learn how to create an optin, go to the Creating an optin tutorial.
